This Calms Me Down When Panic Sets In

It always works and I take it everywhere.

Panic is a frightening sensation.

Recently, it’s started to show up before I fly, which is new for me.

I’ve been on planes since I was a little girl, and I used to love the ritual of flying. But with the relentless news cycle this past year—and the uptick in coverage of plane crashes—I’ve noticed myself feeling more anxious, more panicky, when I travel.

In this video is a somatic technique that’s helped me not only when panic surfaces before flying, but also in everyday life: when I feel overwhelmed during the day, before bed, even while driving if I’m paused at a red light.
